The Arc Los Angeles and Orange Counties is a nonprofit that advocates for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This organization hosts an annual fundraising event, The Arc Walk for Independence, to help make California a better place for all.
This community partner aims to enhance quality of life, access, and inclusion of IDD individuals. In March, Wescom donated time, money, and resources to increase awareness and show our support.
We had 36 dedicated Wescom team members, along with family and friends, participate in the event. Our President and CEO, Darren Williams, joined us in walking three kilometers to raise money for this life-changing organization.
The Wescom Foundation and Wescom Credit Union donated $10,000 to further this nonprofit’s ability to improve the lives of Southern Californians. As a Diamond Sponsor and Advocacy Partner, we encourage members to mark their calendars for next year’s event.
Wescom's mobile branch, Big Blue, provided concierge-style financial services to members participating in the event. As the only mobile branch in California, Wescom members were able to perform cashless account transactions, apply for new Wescom loans, request insurance quotes, and more, all while on-site. Our 1934 truck, Little Blue, was also on-site for photo opportunities.
We also had a community booth that invited other walkers to learn about the Wescom difference. Thank you to our Corporate Partnership and Branch Administration team members for their support and supervision of our team during this incredible event!
